About
Welcome to Shao Kao, a culinary gem nestled in the vibrant heart of Makassar, Indonesia. Located at Jl. A. Mappanyukki No.33, this restaurant promises an unforgettable dining experience that merges traditional flavors with modern flair. With a reputation for its unique barbeque techniques, Shao Kao stands out as a hotspot for both families and friends looking to enjoy delicious dishes late into the night.
Stepping into Shao Kao, you are greeted by a well-designed ambiance that enhances the overall experience. Customers like Anggi praise the speedy service, especially the pre-reservation system that ensures your chosen dishes are ready upon arrival. From Mie Kwantong to delightful Nasi Goreng Yancou and Chicken Wings, the menu is a delightful journey of flavors, even though some dishes may shine brighter than others.
Highlighting the star of the show, the skewers, Shao Kao offers a tantalizing barbecue experience. Yet, as noted by reviewer James Alfred, it's essential to choose wisely among the menu items that benefit most from their secret grilling techniques. Although the prices might lean towards the higher side, the quality and taste often justify the splurge, making it a worth-it experience for many. The chilling sip of ice-cold beer complements the dishes perfectly, just as Jun mentions, creating a delightful pairing to accompany a meal.
The spacious interior, complete with air conditioning, provides a comfortable haven away from the bustling streets outside—an ideal setting for shared meals. However, as Bun Marannu Eppang suggests, a bigger space for non-smokers would surely enhance the experience for everyone.
Overall, Shao Kao is a blend of flavorful dishes, accommodating staff, and an inviting atmosphere, making it a worthwhile destination for food enthusiasts. Whether you come for the skewers or the hearty portions of noodles, your visit is bound to be satisfying. Step in for an experience where every bite tells a story, and every corner of the restaurant buzzes with life.
“ They are famous for the skewers but I came for the noodles. The noodles are really nice and the portion is quite big. If you're not the type that eat much you can opted to share. But if you like big portion then this is your you. The staff is really helpful and accommodating. For the ice tea they give you refill without being ask and that's a plus point from me. The place is pretty spacious as well, equipped with aircon and not smelly like other noodle places. ”
“ Good young chou fried rice and yummy sate…Chilled beer. What else do we need??? ”
“ Always come here with my family... in the center of the city.. good food.. But need more space for non smokers.. ”
“ It's basically ordinary food, then barbequed in a special way. The taste is very nice, but try to think twice before barbequing your choices: not all of them are suitable for it. Price is....a tad on the expensive side. It should be lower, but for the "secret" barbequing techniques, it might be worth it...I guess? The place is also well designed. Overall, a good experience. ”
“ This is the place where you can eat with your family or just hanging out with your pal till late at night. If you reserve before (include what menu you want) your food will came as soon as you're arrive. I ordered Mie Kwantong, Nasi Goreng Yancou, Chicken Wings, Bakkem, Udang Telur Asin. All of the menu were delicious except the noodles. This place serve alcohol too ”
